Human resources policy of the future – actively counteracting the shortage of skilled workers: event for companies and self-employed people on 23 September in Bitburg

2. September 2024

Today, companies face a multitude of challenges that affect their competitiveness and future viability.

One of the most significant challenges is the growing shortage of skilled workers. Due to demographic change and increasing qualification requirements, it is becoming more difficult to find and retain qualified employees. Added to this is the geographical proximity to Luxembourg, which represents an additional constraint for many companies in the neighboring Trier region.

The combination of these factors requires innovative solutions and a strategic realignment in personnel planning and development in order to remain successful in the long term. The Initiative Region Trier eV, the IHK Trier, the HWK Trier and the economic development agencies of the Trier region are therefore inviting you to a joint event on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 6 p.m. in Haus Beda in Bitburg.

Complaining doesn’t help. Demographics are relentless, and the shortage of skilled workers is getting worse. But this development does not affect everyone equally. If you are not an attractive and visible employer and then manage your team poorly, the shortage of skilled workers is not a stroke of luck, but a death sentence. Great employers, however, will always find good people. Stefan Dietz shows how to do this with practical strategies, examples and ideas.

There is still time to set the right course. This involves two main areas of action:

· How a company becomes visible in the job market and attracts talent determines whether positions can be filled well.

· How a company shapes its own culture and leadership determines whether people feel well looked after and stay on board. A decisive factor in this: successful leadership and happy employees.

About Stefan Dietz:

Stefan Dietz is an entrepreneur himself and has accompanied countless companies on their way to becoming great employers. The message in his book “Lucky case: shortage of skilled workers” (Campus-Verlag) to employers is provocative: “Don’t complain, become great employers.” In his new book “Workation – the (new) freedom of working,” he shows the far-reaching potential of flexible working and how employees and companies can benefit from the trend towards flexible, self-determined working.
