VIVA – Austrian astronomer Joseph Johann Von Littrow in the early 19th century once suggested that human digging trenches in the Sahara Desert. They were asked to fill the trench with kerosene and light it. Joseph apparently wanted to send a message to civilization alien living elsewhere in the Solar System.
Unfortunately, the idea was fruitless. Even so there is no word of giving up. Humans continue to try to communicate with aliens until this. The message that humans send to aliens is simply to say that there are living things on Earth.

Now, scientists use radio to help convey that message. In 1962 for example. Scientists of the Soviet Union – now Russia – pointed radio transmitters at the Planet Venus and saluted the planet in Morse code. Live Science, Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
