Galo players vibrate with Hulk, top scorer of the afternoon at Independencia
Caldense complained a lot because of the two penalties scored, both with the help of VAR. In the first, Allan was brought down with a touch from behind, on the line of the penalty area. The second was scored after pulling Bruno Fuchs in the area. The two were converted with category by Hulk.
On the other hand, Caldense had a chance to tie a penalty, committed by Everson in Aru. Geovane Itinga, however, took a weak shot, and the Galo goalkeeper redeemed himself by making the save.
With the victory, Atlético is in second place in Group A of the Campeonato Mineiro. Athletic, another team in the group, beat Tombense 3-1 and lead the group.

The game
Newcomer Coudet promoted some firsts for Atltico for the game against Caldense. Right-back Paulo Henrique, defender Bruno Fuchs, midfielder Edenilson and striker Paulinho were cast in the starting lineup. Another novelty was the entry of Caleb.
The style that Coudet presented in previous works was maintained in his first game in Atltico. In midfield, Allan dropped back to help Jemerson and Fuchs on the ball. Caleb, in turn, was the player who returned to help with the transition. J Pedrinho, on the left, and Edenilson, on the right, played more skewers.
Pedrinho, by the way, was one of the highlights of the first half. With a lot of speed and good dribbling, he led Atlético several times to attack. Another good name was Paulinho. This one, however, wasted good chances.
The Rooster pressed hard. In the best chance, Hulk stopped in good defense of Elisson. And, at 23 minutes, VAR called the referee André Luiz Bento to check a tackle by João Vitor on Allan. The owner of the whistle scored a penalty. In the penalty kick, Hulk displaced the goalkeeper and opened the scoring in Horto: 1 a 0.
After the goal, Galo fell in rhythm and Caldense grew. The visiting team got loose and got some lateral fouls. In one of them, defender Patrick Marcelino went up backwards and touched his head. The ball hit the crossbar and died in the back of Everson’s nets: 1 a 1.
The game was a little truncated, but Atltico grew in the final stretch, with good moves from Pedrinho and Paulinho. The number 10 even had two good chances, but failed to score.
Atltico returned for the second half debuting the other two signings. Igor Gomes replaced Calebe and played more centrally. Patrick was activated in the vacancy of lateral Paulo Henrique. With the change, Edenilson went to the side, Patrick entered the left side of the attack, while Pedrinho went to the right.
And the Rooster came back with everything in the second half. The team had three great chances to score in the first ten minutes. The clearest of them was with Hulk, triangulating Pedrinho and Igor Gomes. The former So Paulo player received and crossed low to the number 7, free and inside the small area, barely taking the ball and finishing outside.
Atltico continued creating. Elisson saved twice. But, after a corner kick, Fabrício Costa pulled Bruno Fuchs into the area. After being called by VAR, referee André Luiz Bento signaled another penalty for Galo. In the charge, Hulk rocked the nets once again: 2 a 1.
The last few minutes were full of fouls, cards, sending off… Atltico managed to hold on and secured victory in the debut in 2022.
