Governor Luis Enrique Dussán López has seen the great importance it has for the department of Huila boost the development of fertilizer plants in different areas of the territory. This is how he proposed it in his Development Plan, and this is how he has been fulfilling the huilenses..
• NORTH ZONE PLANT
In the north of the department of Huila, two projects for more than $9,000 million were approved for the mining sector, which will allow progress in the implementation of a fertilizer plant that will take advantage of the minerals present in the region for the production of organic-mixtures. minerals.
The first project aimed at the construction and provision of an industrial plant for crushing and grinding calcareous rock for the technological strengthening of the mining chain in the department of Huila, which includes all civil works, electrical installations, mechanical assemblies, and activities complementary to its implementation.
Financing: This project led by the Government of Huila, with the support of the Mayor’s Office of Palermo, is financed with resources from the General System of Royalties for more than $4,000 million.
Recipients: It seeks through technological processes to improve the competitiveness of the mining business, benefiting 18 Minera del Noroccidente production units in the department of Huila dedicated to the exploitation of calcite and dolomite carbonate rocks (calcium and magnesium carbonate).
Aim: Give added value to the rock by taking it to grinding and crushing processes until obtaining granulometries with coarse meshes between 20 and 80 that become more assimilable textures of calcium and magnesium, as a source of agricultural mesonutrients and soil corrector, and in finer meshes of between 100 and 450 aimed at the industrial sector for the manufacture of ceramics, floors, paints, detergents, soaps, disinfectants, among other products.
Progress: More than 40% progress.
The second project, ‘Production of stone derivatives from the calcination of rocks and agro-mineral mixtures in the department of Huila’, is complementary to the previous statement, it was also prepared and supported technically, environmentally, socially, economically and financially by the Ministry of Agriculture and Mining of the Department of Huila, in support of the Agrominera Corporation Huila Corpoagrominh; and presented to the Palermo Mayor’s Office for its respective management before the Ministry of Mines and Energy, which received approval and allocation of resources. It will also be built on the premises of the mining center.
Financing: This project financed with resources from Regalías Ocad Paz, in the order of $5,000 million.
Aim: It will allow the construction and assembly of a complementary plant to the project 1. With a calcination system, which includes the processes of crushing, calcination, internal transport, classification, packaging and stockpiling for the production of calcium and magnesium oxides; for the organic-mineral product mixing system, where the storage processes in silos for supply, dosing, mixing, granulation, drying and packaging will be implemented.
