‘Huh?! Thomas says with dry eyes that his heart is with someone else’ | TV thermometer

It’s finally here. The long-awaited thrilling finale. After 12 weeks there is no more rose in all of Mexico and Bachelor Thomas has made his choice. But first there are two more 24-hour dates planned for the blonde and the brunette, ie Merel and Maureen.

Six

But I have to get something off my chest. If you think it couldn’t get any more boring, this latest episode tops it all. Thomas and the two remaining ladies are so careful and still so probing. I would almost say that they are just too nice to each other. There is secretly way too much thinking before asking a question that is too brave. The compliments fly back and forth, but we as viewers just want fireworks!

What also doesn’t help is that in the Belgian Bachelor – which runs almost synchronously on Videoland with the Dutch version – things get really wild. While Belgian Fabrizio in idyllic Greece has already talked to almost every woman in the first weeks, he creates even more tension during the 24-hour dates. The best man has had sex with the last three women. Not at the same time, by the way, but barely a day in a row.

Nice and dramatic

But where were we again? Oh yes – yawn – on a bobbing yacht somewhere in the middle of the sea. Maureen is allowed to bite the bullet. We know by now that she leaves a crushing first impression, now it’s up to her to create an unforgettable impression during the last 24 hours. Thomas can’t keep his hands off her in any case. He is mainly the one who takes the initiative and keeps kissing her.

Meanwhile, Merel receives a visit from presenter Rick to kill time. Who also comes to rub in that Thomas is on a romantic date with another woman at that moment. Gosh, are you serious? In the next shot you see Thomas and Maureen as two lovebirds paragliding during ‘golden hour’. Romantic music underneath and the dramatic contrast is complete. Rick’s voice in the voice-overs also seems more compelling than ever.

Falling star

During dinner, Maureen (22) announces that she wants to become a mother before her 30th and will not be satisfied with one child. For adventurer Thomas, children are above all a ‘far from his bed show’. Hasn’t she met him yet?!

Thomas is also clearly tired of the boring future conversations. He doesn’t know how quickly to skip dessert and lure her out into the garden for “romantic stargazing.” Whoops! Does he just push her into the pool?! That girl all in make-up and in her prettiest dress in heels. Fortunately, he quickly jumps after it himself and Maureen can laugh about it too. We’re just pretending we didn’t hear that “shooting star” joke.

Cuddle

While they wake up in each other’s arms the next morning, we as viewers only want to know one thing. Has more happened than just cuddling?! According to Maureen they have hardly slept, well then we know enough. Even now I suddenly miss the Belgian Bachelor.

Where’s the jeu for the Dutch version?! Thomas will be nice boyfriend material, but did he really behave the whole 24-hour date? Hands above the covers, the good Hendrik and that kind of nonsense? Or would he have set conditions for his participation in order not to be so blacked and end up like his predecessor Bachelor Tony?

Anyway… As if Maureen wasn’t in doubt enough, her mind is now turning even more overtime because Thomas will be spending the next 24 hours with competitor Merel. If I were Maureen, I would’ve gotten him drunk and kept him up all night. Anything to limit his appetite for the next date…

Biggest Plot Twist

But Thomas clearly can’t stay away from Merel in bikini the next day either. While Maureen, meanwhile, is not discouraged by Rick Brandsteder: ‘I have every confidence that everything is going well’, the conversations between Thomas and Merel are becoming increasingly boring. He is especially curious if she wants to get married before church, something that obviously doesn’t interest us as viewers at all. Probably the whole dinner went so well and agonizingly slow, because in the next shot the two lovebirds are suddenly having breakfast fresh and fruity. Hello, production?! What went wrong here?! We missed dessert and the whole bedroom situation was not even captured. I would almost think that they slept separately or that the cameraman overslept. I don’t know what’s worse.

That same evening is the very last rose ceremony. Thomas has at least found ‘true love’. A feeling he hasn’t had for a long time. Maureen is again the first to walk that entire path to Thomas. Most of all I’m afraid she’ll fall on those towering poles. She doesn’t come out of her words because of the nerves. But then The Bachelor himself the word and comes the biggest plot twist of this season. He literally says ‘you are my dream woman. I want to keep you with me.’ You see Maureen beaming and especially thinking: ‘that last rose is also in the pocket† But huh?! Thomas says with dry eyes that his heart is with someone else. A slap in her face. It is right that Maureen asks for an explanation not much later. Because how can you call someone ‘dream woman’ and choose someone else in the same sentence? Something about false hope and a very strange choice.

embarrassing confrontation

In any case, Merel has already pulled out her wedding dress. But she clearly doesn’t want to hold Thomas’s hands yet when she stands unsuspectingly in front of him. Merel prefers to read her story. I don’t think it comes straight from her heart. It even feels quite acted. But his look says it all, he doesn’t care what she says. His choice has, of course, already been made.

Fortunately, we can get the popcorn ready again next week. Because then is the much-discussed reunion! And that bar is now set high, after the embarrassing confrontation between last year’s The Bachelor Tony Junior and his harem. This time Maureen comes to ask for an explanation. And do we finally know if Merel and Thomas are still a set… I secretly think not.
