The next Star Warsfilm will be shot sooner than might have been thought. Since December 2019, Lucasfilm has focused on series in the franchise, and has left the film side alone for a while so that the public can relax.
The next movie looks like Taika Waititi to become. Although the director has said some remarkable things about the project in recent days, behind the scenes there really seems to be little going on and the film is just getting there.

Waititi, for example, recently said that he was not sure whether the film would come. He didn’t have the green light yet and the screenplay wasn’t finished yet.
But an update to The Hollywood Reporter’s new Heat Vision Newsletter shows that shooting should start soon. In fact, the cameras should start rolling at the beginning of 2023!
We still know very little about the upcoming new project. It’s for sure a new and standalone project, revolving around new characters and parts of the galaxy far, far away that we haven’t seen before.
As it looks now, the Star Warsmovie in theaters in December 2023.
