Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness Announce Amicable Divorce After 27 Years of Marriage

British Australian actor Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness announced an amicable divorce, according to a statement shared exclusively with People magazine.

In the statement, the couple, who has been married for 27 years, explains that this is a decision in which their family will always be the priority. They are both parents of two children whom they adopted: Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.

Jackman, 54, and Deborra Lee Furness, 67, married in 1996. When he met her, a year before their wedding, she was already a well-known actress in Australia and he was barely out of drama school .

“We have been fortunate to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful and loving marriage. “Our journey is now changing and we have decided to part ways to pursue our individual growth.”
