NEW YORK – A giant Ferris wheel appeared in Times Square on Tuesday, and it’s not just for decoration.
The 110-foot-tall “Times Square Wheel” located near Duffy Square is expected to begin accepting ticketed passengers starting Wednesday.
It is a limited-time pop-up experience that aims to “show the crossroads of the world as it has never been seen before,” organizers said.
It will be a sign that New York City is back up and running, project manager Vito Bruno told W42st.com. But with the pandemic still ongoing, passengers are expected to follow the city’s COVID-19 guidelines.
Visitors will need to reserve a time to ride the Ferris wheel. Tickets cost between $ 15 and $ 35 each and the trip will last 12 minutes.
The Ferris wheel will be removed after September 12.
