Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces said a large explosion hit their command post at the Kalso military base, about 50 kilometers south of Baghdad, late on Friday. Two sources said it was the result of an air strike.

Details: One fighter was killed and six wounded, two hospital sources in the nearby town of Hilla said.
It is not known who was responsible for the flight. A US official said there were no US military operations in Iraq.
Israel carried out the attack on Iranian territory on Friday, days after Iran hit Israel with a series of drones and missiles.
The Popular Mobilization Forces initially operated as armed groups, many of which were close to Iran. They were later recognized as official security forces by the Iraqi authorities.
Groups within the Popular Mobilization Forces were involved in missile and drone attacks on US forces in Iraq during Israel’s Gaza campaign, but have ceased attacks since early February.
