According to the first information from the Düsseldorf fire brigade, the fire broke out in an industrial area in the Düsseldorf-Oberbilk district. The emergency services were particularly concerned about the heavy smoke development.

“The burning pile of scrap is being pulled apart by an excavator from the company in order to extinguish any embers that are still there,” reports a press spokesman for the fire brigade.
