From the Hungarian point of view, the opening weekend of the European Truck Championship in Hungaroring started with encouragement: in the qualification on Saturday morning, Kiss Norbert took the first start with almost a second advantage over his German teammate Sascha Lenz and six-time European Champion Jochen Hahn.
In the early afternoon, at the start of the first race, which started somewhat late, Kiss started confidently, but could only complete two laps in the lead. At the beginning of the third lap, the Révész Racing MAN suddenly slowed down below him, so he lost the positions in a row and was forced to withdraw from the race.
As it turned out, the turbo tube had fallen out of place, but Kiss Norbi spoke in more detail about the problem to Vezess’s interest:
So Lenz won the first race fairly smoothly, followed by Hahn in second and freightliner Adam Lacko in third.
Kiss Norbert stood out in the first race due to a technical error.

A few hours later, the reverse race, the second race, followed, which, due to a technical error, Kiss Norbert could only start from the penultimate start cube. The two-time European champion Hungarian rider did well at the start, but he was not able to position himself well in the first corner, as Steffen Faast was overturned and several of them were congested.
The 11-lap race didn’t last long, as the German driver broke through the 2nd corner at high speed with his Scania.
Faas escaped the case unscathed, and as soon as he could, they began to fix the guardrail as well. They also announced the resumption of the race at 5:50 p.m., but eventually blew it up for security reasons. On Sunday, a time trial and two races are waiting for the field as planned.
