Until 2017, Kosatenko worked as a deputy department in the same Main Investigation Department, and his chief was one of the most influential security forces in St. Petersburg, Colonel Morozova. When the two of them were removed from the system (for very different reasons), the friendship with Shikhovtsov did not freeze.

Shchuchkin is charged with embezzlement of 25 million rubles; he admitted his guilt, as the security forces say, “in full,” and at the moment he is familiarizing himself with the materials before transferring the criminal case to court.

As of the evening of November 24, Fontanka knows for sure: one of the defendants in the case was asked to pay a decent amount for the sake of his own peaceful future. Taking into account the intermediaries, the figure increased to 15 million and the businessman, unable to withstand the financial burden, turned to the FSB.

On Friday, November 24, the intermediary was detained, and he agreed to take the money to the next link – a lawyer and a friend. Accordingly, they came to Kosatenko, and he, despite his historical closeness to Shikhovtsov, accepted the FSB ultimatum and went with a microphone to his friend. Moreover, he played until the end.

At the meeting, the lawyer hugged Shikhovtsov. A few minutes later, Shikhovtsov was hugged by security officers.

Most likely, a criminal case on bribery has already been opened in the Investigative Committee of St. Petersburg.
