HUELMA (JAÉN), Aug 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
From this Monday until Tuesday, August 31, the Jaén municipality of Huelma becomes an improvised film set on which the Huelva-born filmmaker, Manuel Gomar, will shoot the short film ‘En el
heaven’.
After the reception this Sunday of the entire technical and artistic team from Madrid, Seville, Granada and Huelva, the filming of the short film has started early in the morning, which will be recorded entirely in Huelma.
The film has Mercedes León from Malaga as the main actress. Nominated for the Goya Awards as best supporting actress in 2015 for ‘La isla minim’, she has recently participated in the series about the life of “La Veneno” in the role of the mother of the
protagonist, María Jesús Rodríguez. The rest of the cast is made up of Andalusian actors and actresses.
The short film, as reported by the City Council, is a rural story that tells in a brief and “very photographic” way the life in the towns of Andalusia, especially that of women.
In the words of Manuel Gomar, “it also reflects, in a few minutes, how today the modern and the old, the traditional and the current, perfectly alternate in the life of a people.”
The film will collect the main enclaves of the municipality such as the magnificent Andrés de Vandelvira church or different emblematic streets of the same, among others.
‘En el cielo’ will move through the great international festivals and will not only have the town as its main location, but also with the peasantry. “I adore my town, I love it, I had a very beautiful childhood there and it is an emotional landscape that I always carry
with me “, has affirmed its director.
Collaborating with this film project is the City Council, the
Provincial Council of Jaén, as well as companies and businesses in the town that have wanted to contribute their bit in the short film.
