Swiss watch brand “HUBLOT” has released a watch “Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic (Ref:441.QKB.5120) that pays homage to the strength and determination of tennis player Novak Djokovic, who serves as its brand ambassador. .NR.DJO24)” was released. Limited to 100 pieces worldwide, priced at 7,238,000 yen. The owner will receive a Lacoste polo signed by Novak Djokovic and a Lacoste sports wristband.
The challenge for the Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic was to manufacture a lightweight watch with sustainable parts. Therefore, we recycled the HEAD rackets (25 pieces) and Lacoste shirts (17 dark blue, 15 light blue) used by Djokovic in the 2023 season, developed a composite material, and used it in the watch. We have created a lightweight material that maintains strength and elasticity.
The composite material of the case and bezel is epoxy resin reinforced with quartz powder and glass fused with recycled rackets and shirts. These materials are interspersed with textile fragments in blue, white, and grey.
The product comes with 4 straps. (1) Lacoste tennis wristband, (2) blue elastic strap, (3) light blue Velcro strap, and (4) white rubber strap, each of which can be easily replaced using a one-click system. Among these, the combination of “(2) Blue elastic strap” and watch weighs 49.5g, which is lighter than a tennis ball.
The movement is the self-winding mechanical chronograph “Unico (HUB1280)”, which has also been customized to suit this new model. The standard Unico is made of brass, but we made it 25% lighter by using aluminum. In addition, the light blue and gray alumite treatment harmonizes with the camouflage pattern of the case.
Looking at the design, highlights include the yellow push button that moves the chronograph second hand, and the slightly curved dome-shaped bezel reminiscent of a tennis ball. The chronograph second hand and rotor feature the Novak Djokovic logo.
- Case and bezel material: Matte blue recycled composite material from Novak Djokovic’s polo shirt and racket
- Case size: 42mm
- Windshield: Tempered Gorilla Glass (anti-reflective processing)
- Power reserve: about 72 hours
