At RSC Anderlecht they have a top player in the ranks with Bart Verbruggen. The Dutch goalkeeper has already been linked to teams such as Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United. David Hubert spoke in the podcast Radio Radzinski about the Dutch international.
Hubert played at the Futures together with Verbruggen and he clearly made an impression. “Verbruggen is a player who stood out. Look, I played with Courtois, but he was still a game bird off the field. On the field it was a machine. Bart shows so much maturity off the field, I’ve never seen that in a boy who was 19 years old at the time. He is now showing that in the first team as well.”
STASSIN
He also talked about Lucas Stassin, who is also making waves in the Challenger Pro League this year. “I thought it was important that they got a type of striker there, which they have now obtained with Slimani, to make your entire team run better. Stassin has already proven everywhere that he can score. That is a talent that is almost impossible to training. There are other facets in which he can still take a lot of steps. I think he has already made a lot of progress in playing with his back to the goal. He has become more of a point of contact.”
However, he is not yet getting any real opportunities in the first team. Anderlecht want to bring him at the right time. “Slimani’s transfer? Euhm, I don’t think Stassin lived under the delusion that he was going to be Anderlecht’s first striker. He has had to take a step back, but with the Futures he plays 90 minutes a week at a professional level. That’s a good thing for him too.”
