The Wolinski prize for the magazine’s comics Point was awarded, Monday, November 30, to Human skin, published by Glénat. In the running to win the Fauve d’or at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, Comics won the votes and won over the jury with “ his sensual and biting purpose, his pop and “Renaissance” design, and the freedom to love that he professes. The album has also just received the RTL Grand Prix for Comics 2020.
Human skin tells the story of Bianca, a young lady of good family of marrying age, who is introduced to her future husband Giovanni, a wealthy merchant. As the nuptials approach, she inherits an attribute passed down for generations by the women of her family, a “man’s skin”, which allows her to become a man.
Created in 2004, and chaired by Georges Wolinski until his death, the Point Comic Book Prize, which became the Wolinski Point Comic Prize, has crowned talents such as Riad Sattouf, Jean Harambat, Lucie Durbiano and Catherine Meurisse.
