Hubble Telescope Captures Beautiful Phenomenon in Space, Angel Wings

Jabarekspres.com — Recently the European Space Agency (ESA) published a beautiful picture of the observations telescope Hubble who managed to capture the phenomenon of the collision of two galaxies in space.

In its official Instagram account, ESA called the phenomenon of the collision of the two galaxies as The Angel Wingwhich means Angel Wings, Monday (25/4/2022).

The name is because the collision of two galaxies in the constellation Leo formed a pair of fluttering wings as a process of meeting two galaxies that were originally far apart.

The NASA/ESA Hubble Telescope managed to capture this amazing natural phenomenon as part of a scientist’s project called the Galaxy Zoo.

Galaxy Zoo is an astronomical initiative crowdsourced which involves the work of hundreds of thousands of volunteers to help astronomers sort through data from robotic telescopes and classify galaxies in space. Space.comWednesday (20/4/2022).

The phenomenon of The Angel Wing has captured the attention of scientists and all of us because it is different from the objects around it.

In this Hubble telescope image, we see a kind of dot in the midst of the darkness of the universe. The dots are galaxies that ESA calls appear “overlapping”.

Basically, even though these galaxies appear to be “overlapping” or close together, the objects are actually very far apart.

However, these Angel Wings were an exception. These Angel Wings are indeed two galaxies that meet each other after passing for millions and even billions of years.

“Unlike the juxtaposition of galaxies which coincidentally only appears to overlap as seen from our perspective on Earth, the two galaxies in VV689 are in the midst of a collision. Galactic interactions have made the VV689 system almost completely symmetrical, giving the impression of a set of stretched galactic wings,” ESA said on its Instagram account, Monday (4/25/2022).

The phenomenon of galactic collisions is a common occurrence in space.

Previously, on February 19, 2022, the Hubble telescope had also captured even the collision of three galaxies in the constellation Cancer.

The meeting of the three galaxies even makes objects in them, for example stars, collide with each other, quoted from Live ScienceSaturday (19/2/2022).

Scientists are still studying phenomenon like this in space to gain new knowledge of the macrocosm.***
