CALIFORNIA, iNews.id – Space telescope Hubble experienced significant problems in orbit recently. Remember, the telescope went into safe mode after a computer failure in it.
When the computer encounters a problem, the science instrument will remain in safe mode. The US space agency said the telescope itself and science instruments remained in good health.
The computer crash occurred on Sunday, June 13. Mission control attempted to restart the computer on Monday, June 14. However, the restart failed, and indications indicated the computer’s memory module was down as the source of the problem.
The operations team attempted to switch the computer to a spare memory module. But, the command to start the backup module failed to complete. Therefore, NASA conducted further inspections on both modules, as quoted from Slash Gears, Monday (21/6/2021).
On Thursday, June 17th they obtained diagnostic information while trying to bring the memory module online. However, those efforts also proved unsuccessful.
