The Hubble Space Telescope managed to capture images of a planet in formation.
AB Aurigae B, as it is called, is formed by a disk of dust and gas, with a spiral structure that revolves around the star. The body will be similar to that of Jupiter, but nine times larger and is, at the moment, in an “intense and violent” process, says the article, published in the journal Nature Astronomy.
“Nature is smart. It can produce planets in many different ways”, explains Thayne Currie, one of the scientists and author of the study.
In addition to the birth of this planet, the study also found two other bodies that are also candidates for the formation of two other planets.
