Huawei’s Next Generation: Plans for Internal Design Sensors and Chipsets

With the launch of the Mate 60 series of phones, Huawei resumed manufacturing HiSilicon Kirin chipsets capable of supporting 5G networks for use in its smartphones. Add an announcement
According to “gsmarena”, it appears that the company is planning to replace another chip with an internal design, which is the image sensor.
Huawei has long used Sony sensors in its phones, a strange design that has two yellow sub-pixels instead of two green.

Use Huawei sensors

However, the leaker reported that Sony and Huawei have not renewed their contract – and that the Chinese company has no more Sony sensors in its inventory.
This fuels speculation that the upcoming Huawei P70 series will use sensors designed by Huawei.

Optical fingerprint reader

The company recently had to replace another part of its camera system after the end of its partnership with Leica, with Huawei introducing the XMAGE platform including a custom NPU.
Huawei is also working on a new optical fingerprint reader for the P70 series.
Of course, the company hasn’t officially confirmed any of this, but we expect these interiors to be a big part of its presentation when the time comes, which should be early next year.
It was no coincidence that Huawei had to build its own replacements for components it had previously imported.
