Huawei’s Kunlun Glass Screen Is Stronger Than Gorilla Victus 2? This is the Test!

United States of America, Gizmology – Last year, Huawei launched the flagship Mate 50 Pro, whose screen was reinforced with Kunlun glass. Is it true that this screen with material protection is as tough as it claims?

Yes, Huawei claims Kunlun is strong glass with the jargon “unbreakable”. Developed over four years, this glass material is made through 108 different procedures of various crystals over a 24-hour period and a melting process that takes place at 1,600 degrees heat.

With billions of nanocrystals, Kunlun glass is claimed to be 10 times stronger than other cellphone glass, in this case, for example, Gorilla Glass Victus.

The claim may not be a figment. The reason is, Kunlun gets the title as the glass for the first cellphone to get a 5-star review from SGS Switzerland which is a testing, inspection and certification company. The glass material seems to strengthen the protection of the flagship cellphone, apart from IP68 which allows it to be submerged as deep as 19.7 feet for up to 30 minutes.

Kunlun Glass Stronger?

As if to prove existing claims, PKB Review made a drop-test video on the Huawei Mate 50. This phone was dropped onto a concrete surface from various heights.

First, this phone is dropped waist-high and lands right on the screen. As a result, the side of the screen looks like there are a few scratches, but the screen still looks smooth.

The second test, the cellphone is dropped from head height with the screen facing down. Unfortunately, the cellphone lands on the back of the body which of course makes the screen have no impact at all.

Until finally the test was carried out again and the screen managed to “kiss” the concrete. The result? No damage at all.

In the video, the test host shows that the screens protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra cracked on the first attempt of being dropped waist-high. He hopes that more and more cellphones will use Kunlun glass to protect their screens.
