Huawei’s find director released after three years of arrest

The Eastern District Court of the US State of New York has authorized Huawei’s CFO Meng Wanzhou, accused of violating US trade sanctions against Iran, to strike a deal with the prosecutor’s office.

A spokesman for the prosecution said that the trial has been postponed until December 1, 2022, then all charges will be dropped from Wanzhou, provided that it fulfills all the provisions of the agreement.

The prosecutor added that thanks to the conclusion of the deal, the US Department of Justice may send requests for the extradition of the financial director of Huawei. After that, the Supreme Court of the Canadian province of British Columbia, where the case on the extradition of Meng Wanzhou to the US authorities, is being heard, will be able to release her from house arrest.
