Huawei XMAGE Exhibition 2024: Celebrating 12 Years of Huawei Photography in Dubai

Huawei opened the first ever World XMAGE Exhibition titled “A World to Delight – 12 Years of Huawei Photography” on May 8, 2024, at Alserkal Avenue, Cultural District in Dubai, UAE, celebrating the biggest photo display in Huawei’s history.

Huawei XMAGE Awards 2024, the annual competition that celebrates Huawei’s open platform for excellence in smartphone photography, has been officially announced. In its eighth year, the competition aims to encourage users to unleash their creativity and imagination through Huawei’s innovative XMAGE imaging technology.

A world of happiness – 12 years of Huawei photography
The picture shows the exhibition “A World to Delight”, presenting about 300 high-quality images, generated from the lenses of Huawei smartphones. These pictures, carefully selected from a large number of posts, transport us to embrace moments of warmth, peace and joy, from around the world, including precious glimpses from our diaries. Thanks to technological innovation and prestigious experiences, the exhibition aims to awaken the senses, stimulate minds, and deepen appreciation for the beauty of life and human stories that go beyond the boundaries of photography.

The exhibition celebrates the rapid development of mobile photography over the past decade, showcasing images shot by Huawei’s smartphone series released over 12 years. It highlights Huawei’s commitment to leading innovation in mobile photography technology, and through competitions, community events and trend studies, Huawei has contributed to enhancing the culture of photography. Recently, the HUAWEI P series, known for the latest smartphone camera technology, has been upgraded to the HUAWEI Pura Series. This development, along with the continued development of HUAWEI XMAGE, takes smartphone photography to new heights.

The show explores eight different themes: the mysteries of Mother Nature, landscapes and places, communication with animals, the story of life, you and me, the joy of sports, the power of moments, and the world of youth.

“In an era dominated by technology and speed, it’s easy for people to be overwhelmed by external noise and stress,” said Chen Xiaobo, curator of the exhibition and the ninth vice president of the People’s Association. -Photography of China. “It’s inspiring to see creators around the world capturing and transporting joyful moments using Huawei smartphones. “These images are bridges that fit souls, conveying real warmth and beauty.”

The Huawei XMAGE Awards 2024 were officially launched at the opening ceremony of the exhibition. As an open platform to celebrate excellence in smartphone photography, the annual competition encourages the use of unique perspectives and creativity, pushing the boundaries of the art of mobile photography. Since its inception in 2017, users from more than 170 countries and regions have submitted nearly 4 million entries to this annual competition.

This year’s XMAGE Awards will introduce four new categories – Moments, Faces, Close-up & Extreme Telephoto, and Style, showcasing Huawei’s prowess in photography and portrait photography, telephoto, macro photography, and color scheme. In addition, new awards such as “Best of Pura Series” and “Best of Mate series” were created to encourage research with Huawei’s flagship camera systems.

The competition will also welcome a new panel of distinguished judges, including Chen Xiaobo (9th Vice President of the Chinese Association of Photographers), Keith Ladzinski (National Geographic Photographer and Emmy-nominated director), James Perolz (fashion designer and director), Susie Belianska (photographer and visual designer). ).
