Although these three applications only meet a small part of its home market’s needs, HUAWEI wants to attract as much content as possible to HarmonyOS Next. To achieve this, the strategy is simple: reward developers.

This new popularity contest aims to fully involve developers in HarmonyOS Next. Although the remuneration is attractive, there is no guarantee that published applications will become popular and will thus reach the level required to qualify for this reward.
HUAWEI does not want HarmonyOS Next to fall into oblivion, this new operating system aims to compete with Android and to strengthen China’s technological autonomy. However, it remains to be seen how American companies will react to this new initiative, because to establish themselves in the West they will have to include certain applications.
We are talking about WhatsApp, Gmail, YouTube and many others, all developed by American companies. The future remains uncertain, but HUAWEI appears to have a solid plan in hand. HarmonyOS Next has all the necessary assets to become a real alternative and evolve in accordance with the company’s ambitions.
