“Huawei Watch 4: World’s First Smartwatch with Blood Sugar Measuring Feature”

The Huawei Watch 4 and 4 Pro smart watches were introduced only recently, and from a common point of view, they are very advanced models that fit into the premium category. So far, they are only available in China, but it can be assumed that they will also appear on the European market soon. Huawei already surprised when it launched a watch with satellite connection, and now it has managed to burn the pond of the entire competition. The new watch can measure blood sugar.

Hyperglycemia

Huawei Watch 4 is officially the world’s first watch that can warn users about high sugar levels. The company uses almost every sensor available, even the pulse characteristic of the heart. So there is no dedicated sensor for determining the amount of sugar in the blood. Even so, this is the first such feature.

The measurement itself is not like any ordinary function. First of all, the user must sign up for the hyperglycemia study, i.e. high sugar level. Furthermore, it is necessary to wear the watch for 7 days without a break so that the collected data can be analyzed. Subsequently, the watch can warn in case of hyperglycemia.

But the watch cannot measure special types of diabetes. In addition, even if hyperglycemia is detected, it will only advise what you should do. Don’t expect to get an accurate sugar reading. Even so, this is the first iteration of the technology and it can be expected that the technology race in this area is just getting started.

It has been speculated for a long time that Apple should be working on its sugar level measurement technology, but so far we have not even received an approximate explanation of how the novelty could work. It is also a question of when the technology will be introduced and when it will reach the first users.
