Mate XT to launch in September to rival iPhone 16

The Mate XT will officially launch on September 10, the same day Apple unveils its iPhone 16. With a 10 inch screenthis phone foldable in three promises a 50% larger display area than traditional foldables. Despite its large screen, the phone remains very thin, measuring approximately 5 mm when folded. It can switch from smartphone to tablet format in a single movement, thanks to an improved hinge, which has been redesigned for increased durability.

Rumors indicate that the Mate XT could feature a silicon-carbon battery. This offers better battery life despite a slightly longer charging time. In terms of price, it could be offered at 14,900 yuan (around 1,880 euros). The model will be available in limited quantities and in several colors, including brown and gold versions. Huawei hopes with this launch to maintain its leading position in the foldable smartphone market, where it recently overtook Samsung in terms of global sales.
