All the smartphones Huawei sold before May 16, 2019 had a temporary license. This TGL (Temporary General License) ensured that the devices were kept updated for a certain time.
The problem that arises is that the license has already expired, according to the American newspaper. So Android has no obligation to support the devices of the brand of Chinese origin.
At the moment, Huawei smartphones continue to receive regular Android updates as negotiations remain open. However, they are not yet closed.
