Huawei reinforces portfolio of laptops and tablets at MWC22. MatePad Paper is the first with e-ink – Tecnologia

A Barcelon fair, the Mobile World Congress 2022, starts tomorrow but the news is already being presented by some of the main brands. Huawei once again fulfills the tradition of being one of the first to open the game in relation to releases at MWC22 and brings a reinforced line of laptops and tablets, as well as equipment for the Smart Office.

The main highlights had already been presented in a pre-briefing that SAPO TEK had access to last week, where Huawei highlighted the importance of the line of equipment that first performed in Barcelona in 2016 and that has been one of the fastest growing areas.

With no smartphones on the list of novelties this year, one of the main highlights goes to the MateBook X Pro, where Huawei reinforced the screen to ensure greater quality and color calibration. The display is larger, taking up 92.5% of the space with a very thin bezel, and the HD camera has abandoned its old keyboard space and moved to the top of the screen, where most manufacturers place it as well.

The notebook also features a 90W fast charger and a new cooling system that will help keep the notebook cooler. Inside is an 11th generation Intel processor and not a 12th one, which is due to market timing.

New generation 2 in 1

Huawei also announced a new generation of hybrid notebooks, with a detachable keyboard, the MatePad E 2022, which also has 65 W fast charging. The chassis uses a metal alloy and the back has a fiberglass cover.

The 12.6-inch laptop has an OLED screen, Huawei’s first on these devices, which occupies 90% of the space and which Huawei guarantees is the best display ever on its tablets. In China, this line of equipment has already surpassed Microsoft’s Surface in sales.

The tablet comes with the M-Pencil pen, in its second generation.

Among the novelties is the new member of the tablet family, the MatePad Paper, Huawei’s first model with e-ink. It is a clear competitor to eBooks like the Kindle or Kobo, and to a new generation of tablets designed for reading books and documents.

MatePad Paper has a 10.3-inch screen, and the use of e-ink causes the display to have a limited number of colors, which can make the video and image viewing experience uninteresting.

Inside is the HarmonyOS software that Huawei has installed on smartphones and smartwatches.

It is still unclear when and if these models arrive in Portuguese stores, and at what prices.
