Huawei has just held a launch event for its latest product series in China. One of them is the Huawei Pocket S, which is an “affordable” version of the Huawei P50 Pocket model that was released late last year.

Launching GSM Arena, the Huawei Pocket S which has a clamshell form factor has a 6.9-inch OLED main screen with a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels and supports a refresh rate of 120Hz and 1440Hz PWM as well as a frequency touch sampling rate of 300 Hz.

The kitchen is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, which sadly is limited to 4G connectivity only, and has 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage options.

While the circular “second screen” located on the lid and just below the rear camera is a 1.04 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 340 x 340. For the main camera itself, it uses an ultrawide 40MP + 13MP main sensor + AF laser sensor. While the hole-shaped selfie camera uses a 10.7MP resolution sensor.

Using Harmony OS 3.0, the Huawei Pocket S comes with an ultra-thin graphite sheet that can be folded to increase cooling capabilities. In addition, the battery capacity is 4000 mAh with a charging speed of 40 W. The company has promised to test the opening and closing mechanism 400,000 times to test its durability.
