The Chinese manufacturer unveiled the Huawei P40 at the end of last March. And their successors, the Huawei P50, have been talked about a lot for several months. The firm confirmed their arrival last summer, then the leakers took over to find information on the next series of high-end smartphones from the manufacturer.
Earlier this week, an informant announced on Twitter that the future range will include 3 models (the P50, P50 Pro and P50 Pro +) and that it will be launched at the end of March 2021, between the 26th and the 28th to be exact. He argued that: “The P50 series is ready for mass production, the design of the last prototype has been stopped and it will soon enter mass production”.
A delayed launch and a lower quantity

But a new report from a source inside Huawei’s supply chain reveals that the component orders are less important provided that. This same report also suggests that the launch of the future trio will be delayed, which will logically lead to a later commercialization than what the initial schedule provided for.
The report, spotted by MyFixGuide, however, does not specify the exact number of components ordered for the P50s, as well as the extent of the new delay. But earlier this week, a Nikkei Asia Review report suggested the Chinese automaker ordered components for between 70 and 80 million smartphones this year. This represents a 60% drop compared to last year, when Huawei shipped nearly 189 million components.
This information announces a new decline for the firm in 2021, which is experiencing a difficult period since the implementation of US sanctions. From now on, the Huawei P50 are not expected for spring 2021.
Huawei P50: what we know
The next series of Huawei smartphones will then be delayed longer than expected, but several characteristics are already known. The P50 Pro and P50 Pro + would be equipped with Huawei’s in-house processor, the Kirin 9000, and the standard P50 would have the Kirin 9000E.
The Pro model is the one whose characteristics have been leaked the most on the web. Reports from Let’s Go Digital suggest that the device will have a 6.6 inch with curved edges and a single front camera. We also hear about a refreshment of 120 Hz, a zoom x200 and a powerful fast charge of 66W. We will keep you informed of the latest news regarding future Huawei smartphones. In the meantime, the firm will unveil its new foldable, the Mate X2, on February 22.
