Huawei unveiled the nova 8 and nova 8 Pro in December of last year, but it looks like it doesn’t want to wait that long for the nova 9 series. According to a new rumor from China, these phones will be made official at some point in mid-September, after giving the nova 8 family roughly nine months on the market.
The nova 9 devices are said to sport a nicer overall design as well as better colors than the Honor 50 series. However, compared to the Honor 50, the nova 9 will not have such a good processor inside. For reference, the Honor 50 has the Snapdragon 778G SoC at the helm, while the nova 8 and 8 Pro both went with the Kirin 985.

It’s unclear which chipset the nova 9 family will use, but don’t expect much from its performance, at least compared to Honor’s latest. The nova 9 will have 5G however, for what it’s worth.
As for the design, a previous rumor mentioned that the nova 9 would be a mix of what you saw in the P50 series, the nova 8 and the Mate 50 which would probably not be released again due to all the US sanctions.
