Huawei MatePad Air: Huawei’s First Premium Tablet with 3:2 Screen & 120Hz Refresh Rate

In their home country, China, Huawei announced the arrival of the MatePad Air. This premium class tablet comes with a high refresh rate screen and a large battery.

Carrying the name “Air” you can be sure this tablet is thin and light. The thickness of the body is around 6.4 mm. Meanwhile, it only weighs about 508 grams.

MatePad Air carries a screen panel measuring 11.5 inches. The screen resolution is 2.8K with an aspect ratio of 3:2. So, the screen area looks wider than the 16:10 ratio. More comfortable to support productivity or enjoy multimedia content.

MatePad Air is Huawei’s first tablet that supports refresh rates up to 144 Hz. That way, users can get a smoother visual experience. In addition, this tablet is also the first to receive the Vivid HDR certification. So, the color output on the screen can look more realistic, closer to the original.

For performance, the MatePad Air is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. It’s quite an old chipset considering that Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Gen 2 chipsets are currently available. However, the Snapdragon 888 chipset is still quite powerful to support daily productivity.

For energy intake, the MatePad Air carries a battery with a capacity of 8300 mAh. Bigger than the 7250 mAh battery in the MatePad 11 2023 which was just launched some time ago.

Other features, such as the MatePad 11 2023 tablet, will also be equipped with WPS Office which is equivalent to a PC, supports the use of the second generation M-Pencil, keyboard cover, and carries two cameras. Front camera with 8 megapixel sensor and rear camera with 13 megapixel sensor.

Price of Huawei MatePad Air

MatePad Air will be available with RAM and Storage configurations of 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. The tablet will be available with Wi-Fi only and optional 4G LTE models. Huawei MatePad Air prices start at 2889 Yuan or around 6 Million Rupiah.
