Huawei MatePad 11.5: Affordable Tablet with 120Hz Display and Productivity Features

KOMPAS.com – Huawei officially released a new tablet in Indonesia, namely Huawei MatePad 11.5. This device adds to the tablet line, especially the MatePad 11 series line which was released by Huawei in Indonesia some time ago.

MatePad 11.5 boasts several features, including a 120 Hz screen refresh rate, productivity support features, to a capable processor. In addition, this tablet is also equipped with FollowCam, aka a camera feature that locks focus on faces, following the user’s movements.

“We launched the MatePad 11 and MatePad Air last July. To continue the success of the MatePad 11 series, we launched the MatePad 11.5 today,” said Patrick Ru, Country Head of Huawei Device Indonesia, at the online launch of the MatePad 11.5 in Indonesia, Monday ( 21/8/2023).

Unlike the other MatePad 11 models, the MatePad 11.5 is an entry-level model. Therefore, this tablet was released at an affordable price. Here are the detailed specifications.

Huawei MatePad 11.5 specifications

Huawei MatePad 11.5 comes with a fairly thick screen bezel. As the name suggests, this device is equipped with an 11.5-inch TFT LCD screen with an 86 percent screen-to-body ratio, 16.7 million colors, 100 percent SRGB color gamut and 2,200 x 1,440 resolution, aka 2K.

This tablet screen also features a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and multi-touch support up to 10 points.

In terms of hardware, this tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. This chip is designed with a 4nm architecture, has a quad-core CPU with a speed of up to 2.40 GHz and GPU Adreno 644. The chip is combined with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. .

In addition, this tablet is also equipped with a battery capacity of 7,700 mAh. This power is claimed to make the device last up to 36 days in standby mode. As for charging, it is supported by 10 watts of power.

To support user activity, the Huawei MatePad 11.5 also features a 13 MP (f/1.8) rear camera accompanied by an autofocus feature. The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP (f/2.2) with a field of view of 105 degrees which users can use for video calls and so on.

This tablet camera is also equipped with the FollowCam feature to complement meeting activities. This feature is claimed to keep the camera focus centered on the user’s face during video calls.

To support user productivity, the Huawei MatePad 11.5 is also equipped with the WPS Office PC-Level Experience application which offers a document processing experience like on a PC or laptop.

Another productivity support feature is Huawei Notes to record various notes as easily as taking notes in a book and copying them to various applications. There is also a Multi Window feature that allows you to open several applications at the same time on one display, up to the Super Device to connect the tablet to the monitor, both mirroring and extended monitor.

“WPS is also equipped with many features, one of which is a professional toolbar, custom animations and others. Its use will be familiar, for those of you who often use office on a laptop. So the transition will feel comfortable,” said Training Director of Huawei Device Indonesia, Edy Supartono on the same occasion.

Apart from that, MatePad 11.5 is also supported by the second generation M-Pencil which will make it easier for users to take notes or draw on a tablet. The digital pen is claimed to support pressure levels of up to 4,096 levels, latency of 2 milliseconds, up to 10 hours of use on a single charge.

Other features that complement this tablet are dual-frequency WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, two microphones, up to four speakers accompanied by a smart algorithm for better treble and a high level of sound richness.

This tablet runs on the HarmonyOS 3.1 operating system. With a number of the specifications above, this tablet comes in dimensions of 276.82 mm x 6.85 mm x 260.88 mm and weighs 499 grams.

Price of Huawei MatePad 11.5

Huawei MatePad 11.5 is available in Indonesia and costs IDR 5,499,000. This tablet will be sold starting August 25 at Huawei’s official store and Huawei’s marketplace partners in Indonesia.

Huawei MatePad 11.5 is available in only one color variant, namely Space Gray. During the initial sales period from August 25 to September 10, consumers will receive additional benefits including the second generation Huawei M-Pencil, keyboard and mouse.
