The tri-fold design allows you to use the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design as a standard smartphone with a display 6,4 calaunfold it once and get the screen 7,9 cala or unfold it completely, i.e. into three, and enjoy a screen with a diagonal of 10,2 cala. And that’s already impressive.
Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design – Technical Specifications
No less impressive is the fact that when unfolded, the thickness of the smartphone is only 3.9 millimeters (Not counting the protruding camera section, of course.) Fully folded, the Mate XT Ultimate Design is an equally impressive 12.8mm thick — just slightly thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (12.1mm).
Are you wondering how much does this three-folding wonder weigh? Quite a lot, because 298 grams. However, we cannot forget that the weight of currently available models folded in two, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 or the new Honor Magic V3, is also well over 200 grams. In the case of the cited Fold 6, it is 239 grams, and the Magic V3 weighs 230 grams.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design case is very elegant. Available color variants at launch are: Burgundy and black. The rear panels of both editions are finished with imitation leather. Huawei does not inform whether the case has received any waterproof certificate, so… we should assume that it has not.
The display used is a panel LTPO OLED 120 Hz about the diagonal 10,2 cala and resolution 2232 × 3184 pixels. In the 2/3 setting we get a diagonal image 7,9 cala and resolution 2232 × 2048 pixelsand in the closed position of the smartphone we have access to the image 6,4 cala about resolution 2232 × 1008 pixels. The only downside to this idea is that 1/3 of the foldable screen also acts as an external screen. Huawei claims, however, that it has developed a much more resistant coating that protects it. It will work in practice, but the potential repair of such a display will not be cheap.

The manufacturer does not provide any information about the chipset that powers the Mate XT Ultimate Design, but it is likely that Huawei has used one of the Kirin 9000 series variants, most likely the 9010 model. The smartphone also received 16 GB RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of data storage. The device also features: a dual-band card Wi-Fi 6port USB 3.1 Gen 1 with DP 1.2 support, Bluetooth 5.2, standard support UWB and satellite communications.

Huawei designers divided the smartphone’s power supply section into three separate batteries, which together have a capacity 5600 mAh. For such a slim foldable smartphone – very decent. We can refill the energy in it with a wired connection with efficiency 66 W or inductively – 50 W. Mate XT Ultimate Design also supports reverse inductive charging 7,5 W.

Since we are dealing with a Huawei smartphone, its strong points should also include the camera section. The main camera consists of 50 MP standard module with a variable aperture of f/1.4-4.0 (PDAF, OIS, 24mm equivalent), 12 MP wide-angle module (f/2.2, FF, equivalent to 13 mm focal length) and 5.2x 12 MP telephoto module (f/3.4, PDAF, OIS, 125mm equivalent focal length). Videos are recorded in up to 4K quality. The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP (f/2.2, FF).
Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design – availability and price
It’s time to move on to the price. Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is currently only available in China and… unfortunately, it will most likely remain there. Huawei has set the base price at 19,999 yuani.e. in terms of 10,890 PLNbut we will have to pay for the most powerful edition with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of data memory 23,999 yuanthat is, about 13,100 zlotys. Interestingly, the interest in pre-ordering the Mate XT in China is as high as its price.

A nice touch is also the smartphone’s company kit. It includes: a wall charger, a car charger, a USB cable, FreeBuds 5 headphones, a card drawer ejector and a case.
