Huawei Mate X2 Release Delayed?

Jakarta, Selular.ID – Huawei is reportedly preparing with a new folding screen smartphone. According to information circulating, the previous folding screen phone came with an outer folding screen, however, the Mate X2 will be different, as it is said to feature an inward folding screen.

Even though the specifications and images touted as the Mate X2 continue to appear, the signs of the Mate X2 are not coming.

But a little bit of a leak regarding the timing of the launch was revealed recently, is a leaker named Teme (@ RODENT950), revealing that the launch of the Huawei Mate X2 is expected in January 2021.

Not yet answered, as quoted by Gizmochina, the leaker also revealed that initially, the launch of the Huawei Mate X2 was postponed. (Twitter / RODENT950).

Even so, according to his claim, the launch must be postponed so that we cannot see the launch of the new Huawei foldable cellphone this month.

Unfortunately, this leaker doesn’t specify a specific launch date for the next device.

Leaker also did not provide a reason for the delay. There are allegations regarding the reason Huawei chose to delay the release.

It is predicted that it has something to do with the chipset or kitchen runway used by the Huawei Mate X2.

Apart from the new phones, there is the Huawei P50 which is expected to release in the first quarter of 2021, with limited chipsets (including the Kirin 9000).

It is likely that the company is considering options regarding which devices should get stock chipsets available.

Previously, Huawei Mate X2 has passed the 3C (China Compulsory Certification) certification in which the device was confirmed to carry 66W fast charging.

Huawei has yet to provide an official statement regarding the news about the delay in releasing the Huawei Mate X2.

Earlier, Ross Young, who is the Founder and Principal Analyst of DisplaySearch and DSCC, responded to a tweet from reliable leakster Evan Blass, Young claiming that the Mate X2 will have an inward folding screen, which will be sourced from Samsung and BOE. And it’s not a UTG type, it’s a CPI.

Tweet Blass also revealed the names of Huawei’s upcoming products along with their code names in the post. The Mate X2 is Teton, while the next generation Nova and Y9a are Jessica / Barbie and Franklin, respectively.
