Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Since getting sanctions from the US in 2019, Huawei has not been able to launch cellphones with a 5G network. In fact, other manufacturers have quickly launched HP 5G in various price segments.
Now, Huawei has finally joined the 5G HP market by launching the Mate 60 Pro. This ‘mysterious’ cellphone was suddenly marketed in China without any fuss.
The Huawei Mate 60 Pro is said to be a crushing blow to the US. This cellphone proves that Huawei can produce 5G devices independently without relying on US technology.
Community enthusiasm was very high. In the pre-order period of 5 days in China, the cellphone sold nearly 1 million units.
In fact, Huawei’s physical store and official website say the product will only be available again in mid-September.
Quoted from GizmochinaWednesday (6/9/2023), the Mate 60 Pro is projected to drive Huawei’s sales by 20% in the second half of 2023. As many as 5.5-6 million units of the Mate 60 Pro are predicted to be sold by the end of the year.
Veteran analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the Mate 60 Pro could sell up to 12 million units within 1 year after its launch.
For information, the Mate 50 pro 4G, which was released in 2022, sold 2.5 million units in 12 months. Meanwhile, the Mate 40 Pro 5G, which was launched in 2020, sold 6 million units in 1 year.
According to Kuo, the new Mate series can push Huawei’s overall HP sales to 60 million units by 2024.
The Mate 60 Pro is priced at 6,999 yuan or the equivalent of Rp. 14.6 million. This cellphone is equipped with only one RAM option and three storage options, namely 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB.
Huawei Mate 60 Pro is designed with a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED screen and a resolution of 1212 x 2616 pixels. The screen is also equipped with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. In addition, the Mate 60 Pro’s screen is protected by the second generation of Kunlun glass.
Uniquely, this smartphone screen has three holes or punch holes. The hole houses the 13 MP (ultrawide) front camera, as well as the 3D ToF sensor and Face ID security feature.
While on the back there is a circular camera module. The module accommodates three cameras, consisting of a 50 MP main camera accompanied by f/1.4 to f/4.0 aperture features, OIS stabilization, and PDAF.
48 MP telephoto camera (f/3.5), which is equipped with 90mm (periscope telephoto, PDAF, OIS stabilization, and 3.5x optical zoom. Then there is a 12 MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2).
Huawei Mate 60 announced that it can be used to make satellite phone calls. Meanwhile, for color availability, this cellphone is available in black, white, green and purple options.
