Huawei develops a revolutionary smartphone that combines two important innovations

So far, despite US sanctions, Huawei has held firm. Recently, the manufacturer has even positioned itself as number one in the smartphone market, ahead of Samsung, thanks to a faster recovery in China, where its sales have not been affected by these sanctions.

Huawei seems to have the intention of continuing to manufacture smartphones. One of its next models could even be a concentrate of innovations, by combining two quite impressive technologies: the front camera hidden under the screen, as well as a fingerprint scanner that can be used on all areas of the screen. this screen.

Quoted by our colleagues from Android Authority, the company would have indicated that for the moment, there is no precise timetable. But this device could hit the market in “a generation or two”. In the meantime, Huawei still has technical details to work out.

In fact, for it to be possible to scan your fingerprint over the entire surface of the screen, there must be several sensors below it. The manufacturer must therefore reduce the costs of fingerprint scanners, but also reduce the amount of energy that this device could consume.

As for the front camera hidden under the screen, which would definitely bury the notch on smartphone screens, this option is also being explored by other manufacturers, including Xiaomi and Oppo. And the first smartphone using this technology will be launched this year by ZTE. This is the ZTE Axon 20 5G, which will be unveiled on September 1.

Huawei must also solve its shortage of processors

But for Huawei to continue to sell smartphones, it will first have to find an alternative to Kirin processors. In May, the United States announced new sanctions to prevent Huawei from sourcing processors from companies that use American equipment or software.

And unfortunately, for the manufacturer, the supplier which manufactured its Kirin processors is affected by these new measures. The United States has also just announced a tightening of these sanctions to ensure that Huawei will not be able to circumvent these new measures.

At the moment, we don’t know how Huawei could replace Kirin processors on its devices. But some rumors suggest that Qualcomm is currently lobbying the US authorities to obtain approval to supply processors to the Chinese manufacturer.
