Huawei continues cybersecurity commitment at ARISPA event

(HUAWEI) – Huawei sponsored the ARISPA event took place on June 22, 2021 on the theme ” Opportunities and challenges of modern cybersecurity Organized by the professional computer association PCA under the leadership of the League of Arab States at the Hotel Le Royal in Dbayeh, Lebanon.

The event took place in the presence of Mr. Adnane Ben Halima, Vice-President in charge of public relations for the Mediterranean region of Huawei Northern Africa, Mr. Lixiangyu, Vice-President of the Middle East region of Huawei and by Mr. Lixiaofeng (Aiden), CEO of Huawei Lebanon. The Acting Minister of Telecommunications of Lebanon, HE Talal Hawat, Dr Khaled Wali, Director of the ICT Department of the Arab League and Mr. Mohamed Ben Amor, Secretary General of the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO) attended this event , as well as deputies and high level participants from different Arab countries.

Mr. Adnane Ben Halima, Vice President in charge of public relations for the Mediterranean region of Huawei Northern African spoke about the global challenges in terms of cyber threats. He said cybersecurity is the foundation of digital transformation to increase trust and protect the data of people, businesses and governments.

Mr. Adnane Ben Halima also underlined: “It’s an end-to-end process that includes all the players in the ecosystem: the regulatory part, the infrastructure part, the application part and the human resources capacity part. Cyber ​​security is Huawei’s top priority, as evidenced by our governance model on the subject and our investments: more than $ 1 billion in cybersecurity-related R&D and 7 transparency centers around the world. “

Mr. Mohamed Naoufel Frikha, Director General of the National IT Security Agency (ANSI), presented the potential risks countries face today in cybersecurity and presented Tunisia’s strategy and vision for guarantee national digital sovereignty.

Mr. Omar Seghrouchni, President of the CNDP (National Commission for the Protection of Personal Data) also presented his vision on how Morocco approaches the data protection part as the main pillar of the national cybersecurity strategy.

Mr. Ibrahim Alshamrani, Head of Cyber ​​Security and Privacy at Huawei Saudi Arabia, participated remotely in the conference, meanwhile, said: “The cybersecurity challenge is complex. It cannot be resolved by focusing on one vulnerability at a time. It is essential to work together. Meeting the challenges of cybersecurity requires a systematic approach, which involves the whole industry and society. He said governments and industry organizations should work closely on unified cybersecurity standards.
