Huawei’s seventh annual flagship event for the global ICT sector was held in Bangkok from 19-21 September. The theme of this year’s event was “Free the digital”. The event brought together over 10,000 ICT industry leaders, experts and partners from around the world to explore how to more effectively unleash digital productivity, promote the digital economy and create stronger digital ecosystems.
As part of this event, Huawei held a remote regional conference with reporters. Hosted by Adnane Ben Halima, the vice president in charge of public relations for Huawei Northern Africa, he answered questions from reporters on issues related to the SPARK program, artificial intelligence, 5G and the cloud, among others.

In addition to the Cloud, the SPARK program established by Huawei is an international program that began in the Asia Pacific region last year and will be rolled out towards the end of this year in the North Africa region. It aims to help startups grow by providing them with know-how, products and notoriety to make them shine. Huawei will also offer some offerings including cloud functionality. This will be in the form of free access for startups that need these resources.
Huawei has established the ICT Academy program for several years to support selected African startups in their training and in the development of their business plan. An innovation that allows various startups to evolve with new technologies.
