The founder of the Chinese telecoms giant Huawei, targeted by US sanctions, called on Tuesday the Biden administration to “a policy of openness” while wanting to be reassuring about the “survival” of the group, during an interview with the hurry.

Huawei has been blacklisted by the former Trump administration to prevent it from acquiring much-needed US technologies for its phones.
“We hope that the new administration will have [envers Huawei] a policy of openness that will be beneficial ”to the United States, said Ren Zhengfei, who founded the company in 1987.
Huawei is today a planetary juggernaut.
Present in 170 countries and with 194,000 employees, the firm is at the center of the Sino-American rivalry against a backdrop of trade and technological war and suspicion of espionage.
This distrust of the company stems in part from Ren Zhengfei’s military past and his membership in the Chinese Communist Party, which fuel suspicions about the regime’s supposed influence on the group.
Despite US sanctions, the founder of Huawei said on Tuesday “still hope to be able to buy large volumes of American materials, components and equipment”.
And Mr. Ren believes that “Huawei’s survivability has increased” despite pressure from Washington.
