/ world today news/ The Chinese technology giant “Huawei” on Monday presented certificates to 30 Bulgarian students who participated this year in the company’s global program “Seed for the future”.
“In 2014 the “Seeds for the Future” program was launched in Bulgaria. Then 10 Bulgarian students were awarded,” said Li Shaowei, General Manager of Huawei Technologies Bulgaria. This year, 30 Bulgarian students received the award, which shows that the information and communication technology sector is supported by the growing interest of young people in innovation and digitalization.
The program is important for students interested in information and digital technology as it bridges the gap between theory and practice. “Digital skills are one of the most important areas in the education sector and their professional level opens doors to many opportunities,” Li said.
“The award is something special for me. It shows that we have learned something and gained new knowledge. This is a great success and a good start for me as a student,” said 21-year-old Sevgi Mehmedova, who studies informatics and computer science at the University of Economics – Varna.
