Huawei APAC ICT Competition 2022 Attracts Over 5,300 Students, Teachers From 10 Countries

The overall objectives of the competition include cultivating talent to drive the future of digital transformation, promoting effective mapping of talent supply and demand, and developing a strong talent ecosystem. Hailing from 272 leading universities and colleges located in 10 countries, participants competed in one of two technology streams: Network or Cloud.

The competition not only recognizes and rewards students’ achievements in the ICT field, but also provides guidance to help guide their future career development. For participants, the Huawei ICT Contest means more than just friendly rivalry: it’s a journey of exploration, covering the latest ICT technologies and products, as well as emerging industry trends.

Among the students who participated in this year’s preliminary round, 114 progressed to the regional finals, 18 of whom received bronze, silver or gold medals in the Network and Cloud streams. For network track results, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) of Malaysia won first prize while Macao University of Science and Technology (MUST) of Macao and STI College (STI) of Philippines won the second and third prizes of the Huawei ICT Competition Asia Pacific 2022. The Multimedia University (MMU) of Malaysia won the first prize in Cloud track, the second and third prizes went to Nanyang Polytechnics (NYP) of Singapore and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The 18 winners will continue their journey for the Huawei ICT competition by June 2022 which will be held in Shenzhen, China.
