HTC reveals its diverse vision for Metaverse

HTC has a demo of a virtual animated world it calls Viverse, which Wang says would be a safe and secure environment for children and adults. It will be a space for customization, collaboration and fun.

HTC has announced that it is unveiling its latest 5G mobile solution – the Reign Foundation – and is working closely with new HTC subsidiary G-Reign and in collaboration with Supermicro.

HTC has also partnered with Holoride to bring VR entertainment to car passengers. I demonstrated the Vive Flow immersive virtual reality glasses using Holoride’s immersive technology platform. HTC Vive and Holoride showcase their out-of-the-box glasses and in-car VR experience to select MWC 2022 guests while driving around Barcelona.

During the ride, passengers will be able to experience Holoride’s “flexible content” which is able to adapt to the movement of the vehicle so that game-like experiences adapt in real time to the length and type of track, driving styles and location.

Wang said Viverse is here with VR apps today and will come in the future as AR and VR hardware advances to deliver “a future where the impossible becomes possible.”

In Viverse, you can work out in the gym from your living room, attend virtual concerts, and climb virtual glaciers. Wang said metaverse technologies that will be important include virtual reality, augmented reality, AI, blockchain and 5G.

She said technology should take a back seat and expertise should come to the fore.

“These are technologies that we need to keep innovating to move us forward,” Wang said.

She said HTC supports Viverse as an open metaverse platform and will work with partners to provide Viverse.
