From other languages, only the scene in ‘Hridaya’ is among them. In the note shared on X, Karthik has written how many people were affected by that short scene of only two seconds in the film. In ‘Hridaya’, Prana and Kalyani eat bun porotta and beef at the shop that attracted many. When Vineet Srinivasan wrote about Ayyappattan’s handiwork on social media, the shop was thronged. The motto of this shop is to serve good country food with taste.
Ayyappattan’s shop is in Edachira, Kollangode. Not only porotta and beef, there are also afternoon meals like pappadam and payasam. There are many filmmakers who have tasted the food here even before people came to know about it through movies. Vineeth Srinivasan came to know through them. Dosa, porota, kuruma, sambar, chutney and chili chammanti are the breakfast food here. Lunch will be served at 11:30. Specials are fish, chicken and beef.
Arun said in his heart that although Bun Porotta was made famous, there is no Bun Porotta at Ayyappattan’s shop, instead you get Porotta that is baked on a stone and beaten well. Now if you insist on bun porotta, that too will be prepared. Just have to wait for some time. There is beef curry to eat. All the curries here will stand up to the taste of home as they are prepared in their native style. Sambar, Thoran, Avial, Pickle and Papad are served with rice. Along with stew.
