The start to the duel was clearly better for the guests. In the first minute, the Frenchman Perret fouled and the Energie team got to the power play in a flash. He didn’t play it well at all, but in the end the West Czechs scored. Pulpán scored all the screening players from the blue line and goalkeeper Lukeš, who this time took precedence over Finn Kiviah, was not entitled.
–
The collected home woke up, it became a sign that warned them to take over. They received a settlement after a similar situation, after which the guests scored. Mountfield played a power play, and also very badly. The West Bohemians even broke into two separate escapes, but Lukeš saved the home team in both cases. It helped Hradec, because right after that he leveled with a hard blow without Lev’s preparation.
–
Also in the second part, power play had a major influence on the score changes. Even though there were no goals in them. Hradec first defended the weakening three against five, then the classic, but shortly after it collected. Beránek pushed his way up close, whose goal was still to be consecrated by a video referee. The judges on the ice asked for a review, they weren’t sure if it was a kick of a skate wheel. No goal, the goal was paid.
–
In the 26th minute, another goal came just after the numerical advantage. In this case, they had it at home, they did not make it, but the disqualified Douder got into an escape immediately after it ended, which turned completely cold-blooded and celebrated the first goal of the season.
–
The Hradec Králové team got up until the end of the second part, Kevin Klíma hit the top corner a minute before the end, Fin Oksanen scored his second assist in the match. In addition, the home team had three other great chances; two were burned by Captain Smoleňák and one by Miškář. However, goalkeeper Novotný resisted.
–
The third period was a duel over whether Hradec will definitely return to the match. He had a lot of pressure, but he didn’t do well in the game. The guests focused on the defense, the perfect goalkeeper was Novotný, who helped Energie not only by catching, but also by precise work with a hockey stick. He threw the puck out of the zone several times, relieved his teammates and was deservedly declared the best player at the end of the match.
–
The home coaches used the concept from the derby with Pardubice, which the team turned into a power play, and the goalkeeper Lukeš was called off three minutes before the end. This time, however, they failed and Karlovy Vary resisted. In addition, 37 seconds before the end, Vondracek passed and decided definitively.
