The history of America from 1860 onwards is to be rewritten in around twelve hours of cinema and with a prominent cast: the initiator, screenwriter, director and main actor is Kevin Costner. It is the time shortly before the American Civil War and the time of the settlement of the American West.
And then there are white settlers, who are mainly those who have not made it in Europe for various reasons: religion, poverty, politics. They are soldiers of fortune, businessmen, farmers, people driven by great hopes as well as depression, by dreams of a better world, they are soldiers who are supposed to keep order, and they are indigenous people who do not want to give up their land without a fight.
Anyone who likes Costner, anyone who likes westerns, anyone who is interested in American history, anyone who wants to understand why the USA is the way it is today, anyone who simply likes big pictures, will not be bored. Of course, there is still a lot of room for improvement, but Kevin Costner still has about nine hours of cinema time to tell a real story.
