HPV Vaccination: The educational community of San Lorenzo participated in a prevention lecture – Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare

•The importance of vaccination for disease prevention was one of the points discussed at the meeting between health professionals and authorities of educational institutions.

A culture of prevention is promoted in the areas of consumer care in health services and, at the moment, the Department of Health Promotion, responsible for the San Lorenzo General Hospital (HGSL) of the Eleventh Health Department, Central, through the Expanded Site Immunization Program (PAI), conducted training on the HPV vaccine, within the framework of the national vaccination campaign against the Human Papilloma virus.

This activity is aimed at representatives of parents’ commissions, educators, supervisors and directors of educational institutions in the San Lorenzo area.

The aim of the training was to raise information and awareness about the importance of vaccination to prevent diseases such as different types of cancer, promote participation in vaccination programs and foster a culture of prevention in public health.

The speech was given by the head of the mother region of HGSL, Dr. Emigdio González and the team created for PAI schools, Lic., Cristina Zalazar, Lic.

Members and authorities of educational institutions were present.
