Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm and on weekends from 10 am to 5 pm.
This campaign is part of the national publicity campaign Don’t miss it. With this, RIVM is drawing extra attention to the HPV vaccination, which protects against six types of cancer. All men and women born between January 1, 1996 and December 31, 2003 can be vaccinated against the HPV virus. Making an appointment is not necessary, just an ID is enough.p
HPV stands for the highly contagious human papilloma virus. An infection can sometimes lead to cancer in various parts of the body. Read more about HPV and the HPV vaccination campaign here.
A letter to your son
Research shows that many young adults are not familiar with the HPV virus or forget to get the shot. This may cause regret later. This is how (neighborhood) father Redouane Oulad van Afrikaanderwijk came up with the Afrikaanderwijk. He used to not have the chance to get vaccinated against HPV and thought it was especially important that his son thought carefully about his choice. From here came the idea to write a letter to his son.
“You know my greatest wish as a father is that you are well. That you can live a healthy life and make adult choices to protect others and yourself.’
Everyone is free to make their own choice, but it is important that young people think about it carefully. As a parent and caregiver, but also as an (older) brother or sister, you can help with this by starting a conversation about it. Or, for example, by sending a letter to your son, daughter, brother or sister.
