HPE to build supercomputer factory in Europe – IT Pro – News

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is building a factory for supercomputers and AI systems in the Czech Republic. It is the company’s first supercomputer factory in Europe. The new location should accelerate delivery to European customers.

The factory for high performance computingsystems will be built in Kutná Hora, next to an existing factory where HPE manufactures servers and storage solutions. HPE has three other supercomputer factories outside of Europe.

In the new European factory, exascale supercomputers and AI systems produced† These are Apollo systems and Cray EX supercomputers. The factory will be provided with a reinforced floor to support the weight of the supercomputers. Each Cray EX cabinet weighs up to 3628 kilograms. In addition, there will be a water circuit between the supercomputers and on the roof of the factory to cool hot water.
