Since HP bought Voodoo in 2006, it has not purchased any game-related companies, but it is clear that they are ready to expand again.HP has just reached an agreement with Kingston, the parent company of HyperX,Buy HyperX for $425 million, but not including HyperX’s memory and storage business-the latter two will remain under Kingston’s banner, and may be launched under other brands. This will add a series of gaming peripherals including keyboards, mice, headsets and microphones to HP’s PC department, and even extend the antennae to the game console accessories. HP expects to complete the acquisition in the second quarter of 2021.

For HP, this should be a good move. At present, many PC manufacturers are actively building their own e-sports brands, such as Asus’s ROG, Acer’s Predator, Lenovo’s Legion, etc. Naturally, the launch of e-sports peripherals is also An important part of it. If HP wants to gain some in the e-sports market, buying HyperX should be a very helpful step.
